Courageous Conversation® Beyond Diversity™ with Glenn Singleton at the LBJ Library in Austin, Texas
$450.00

“We Hold These Truths...” – the guiding principle of the 2023 National Summit for Courageous Conversation® here in Austin – speaks to the duality of our nation’s declaration and founding. That “all men are created equal...with inalienable rights...” coexisted with an on-going reality of genocide and enslavement, foreshadowed today’s inability to acknowledge that two truths can be held at the same time. If our shared humanity is to ever compassionately mature, they must be addressed in sustained, nuanced dialogue examining experience, belief and power.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of one of the most significant periods of legislation in the 20th century. Beginning with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, race and racial justice were central to national political cabals more than at arguably any period since America’s Civil War. 2024 also harbors the still yet unreconciled global truths of the then two-decade aftermath of World War II, and its descendants’ lack of knowledge, skill, will and capacity to speak openly and earnestly about race, ethnicity and nationality.

Hosted at the legacy site of President Lyndon Baines Johnson, please join President and CEO of the LBJ Foundation, Mark K. Updegrove, as he welcomes Courageous Conversation® Founder and President, Glenn E. Singleton, to facilitate his award-winning program, Beyond Diversity™:  An Introduction to Courageous Conversations About Race, on April 2-3, 2024 in Austin.

Beyond Diversity™ is a powerful, personally transforming, two-day seminar that helps leaders, and organizations understand the impact of race in their lives, work, and overall growth and development. It provides and models a protocol for discussing race in ways that are productive, insightful, and generative.
